The Gauntlet 5K Trail Run, Greenville

The Gauntlet is not a 5K for the meek.—and it certainly doesn't accommodate those who don't like getting muddy. This obstacle course takes its cues from real military training challenges, and it's designed to push your limits and test your grit. But mostly, it's tons of sweaty, messy fun.

Along the earthy and soggy trail, thrill-seekers run, jump, climb, crawl, and swing across a series of tough hurdles, including rope bridges, hay walls, and daunting mud pits designed to bring out your inner Swamp Thing. Across the finish line, finishers can reward themselves with frosty beer and food while cavorting to live music at the after party.
