When Yogyam founder Vineeta Sharma says yoga is in her blood, she means it. Born in the Himalayas to an author of numerous spiritual texts, Sharma found healing in her youth through the practice of yoga. Honoured in her homeland with the title of Acharaya—a highly respected teacher—she moved to Canada in 2009 and later spent some time in Shanghai to become certified in Tai Chi. At her Halifax yoga studio, students work to achieve absolute balance, both physically, spiritually, and for the next time they have to walk a tightrope. Yoga classes in the Hatha tradition range from beginner to advanced levels, and the studio also offers meditation classes and Reiki therapy.
