The city of Hercules celebrates the Fourth of July, and itself, with a day packed with flag-waving festivities and local pride. And at the center of the holiday mirth, the third-annual Hercules Dynamite 5K Run Walk invites runners and walkers of all ages to show their pride with their stride. Here's what to expect from this patriotic promenade.
- The Course: The running route—which is certified and chip-timed—is nice and flat (perfect for casual walkers and the incline-averse) and is girdled by the gorgeous and shady eucalyptus trees of Refugio Valley Park.
- The Prizes: The top three male and top three female runners receive cold, hard cash. Or possibly warm cash, depending on the weather. Either way, it's cash.
- After the Race: Enjoy refreshments and live entertainment at a post-race festival, and keep the patriotism pumping at the vibrant Fourth of July parade.
- The Good Cause: Proceeds benefit the Rotary Club of Hercules.
