In 1997, laser hair removal was in its infancy. Though the technology seemed to work, it often caused painful burns on the patients who sought it out. Devised by two physicians and an engineer in Spain, Depi4ever was born out of a desire to find a gentler, less painful hair-removal technology. Their choice was IPL, a regimen that calls on intense light pulses from a specialized lamp, which weakens and destroys hair follicles in their active growth phase to prevent hair from sprouting. Today, this is still the only service that Depi4ever offers, keeping their staff members from the distractions of the facials and face-replacement treatments of other spas to become experts in the art of IPL.
