From Our Editors
The Riesling grapes here came from vines so old that, if they were people, they could drink wine themselves. They're 28 years old, to be exact, and their grapes give Blue Ridge Vineyard's most award-winning white its crisp apple notes. The Riesling is just one of the team's array of wines, which range from traditional Gewurztraminer to an aged Cabernet Franc. Visitors can sample whichever one they like on the premises while exploring the barn and pasture, or enjoying views of local mountain ranges. In summer, visitors can also pair the winery's vintages with outdoor music, courtesy of the summer concert series.
