The volunteers at Texas Alaskan Malamute Rescue commit themselves each day to a single goal: ensuring that every alaskan malamute in the state has the opportunity to live a happy, healthy life with a loving family. Working one malamute at a time, the organization cares for dogs that come to them from undesirable situations such as underfunded shelters, puppy mills, or the streets. Each animal is spayed or neutered and given veterinary attention and TLC, from bathing and grooming to deworming and vaccinations. Volunteers also train the dogs—many of them come to the rescue unable to even walk on a leash—before placing them with their new families.
