Use a Groupon! This is expensive, but enjoyable. Be prepared for no parking! $10 pay lot or walking from a side street (only a few, but they aren't too far)

This year it seems like there was more "new stuff" like jewelry, books, & scarves than I remembered there being last year. I was a bit disappointed this year. There wasn't much to do in the Children's Tent Friday morning. Maybe in the future consider the DNR taking part with exhibits. The nursery exhibits were all beautiful. My granddaughter really enjoyed the Wizard of Oz train display.

It's only an annual event so it's been more than 6 months. Lots of nice people. Lots of vendors. Very friendly atmosphere.

I was disappointed in the type of vendors there. I was hoping for much more in the way of outdoor items. Less jewelry, especially of the caliber shown there. I also wasn't in the market for antiques. Simply flowers, plants, yard "art", art reflecting fine quality. The pottery there was lovely! I would have enjoyed more on that line.

Great kids activities. Smaller show with only a few exhibits, but several vendors. The kids tent was great.

Because this event was labeled a "Garden Show," I did not expect so many non-garden vendors (jewelry, specialty foods, etc.) or for that matter, mass-produced iron decorations, many of whom were not local. On the plus side, there were two beautiful garden setups, many lovely flowers and plants to purchase, and a few actual garden-related artisans. I would like to have seen more yard and garden setups, methods for decorating and growing the plants available for purchase, actual gardening techniques and examples. I was quite surprised that there were no real fairy gardens (I saw only one or two tiny ones) since these are very popular with children. Call it a fundraiser, or focus on gardening!

From Our Editors

Orchard in Bloom’s annual garden show and symposium sponsored by National Bank of Indianapolis in Holliday Park raises funds for The Orchard School, an independent grade school for grades pre-K through 8, as well as Holliday Park. Select local landscapers create macro-landscapes with in-season botany as well as specialized microgardens, designed to showcase specific plant varieties and new design ideas that homeowners can easily incorporate into their own yards. Gardeners can stock up on tools, plants, and art at the Gardener’s Market, full of national and regional artisan vendors. The children’s area entertains youngsters with age-appropriate activities, such as filling flowerpots with soil and playing patty-cake with the limbs of trees.
