DC Running Club, Upper Marlboro

The DC Running Club serves a community of walkers and runners from DC, Maryland, and Virginia, hosting races open to all ages and abilities. Its events include the 12K's Of Christmas Holiday Run, held annually to support The W.H.A.L.E.R.'s Creation Annual Foster/Adopted Youth Christmas Dinner by running or donating funds to this race, with holiday music playing at the start and finish, and apple cider refreshment at the finishing line. Over the next five years, the education-focused nonprofit plans to raise $5,000 in scholarship funds for area youth.

The family-friendly Marlton 9 Hole Run celebrates the autumn with a walk/run on the golf cart path overlooking a well-manicured golf course. Participants' spirits are lifted up by music and a variety of food and drinks options, while the little ones get medals.
