Safari Lake Geneva, Lake Geneva

Within the confines of its preserve-style park, Safari Lake Geneva provides a home for exotic animals from around the globe. Unlike a zoo, however, it also provides guests with an up close (and sometimes personal) look at these majestic beasts via engaging safari-style park tours. It's the latest project from "Jungle" Jay Christie, the former head of the Racine Zoo who's dedicated his life to zoological education and conservation. Read on to learn more:

• Animals from far...: On any given trip to Safari Lake Geneva, you're likely to encounter an animal you've never seen before. The park's species include entries from four continents, and range from majestic scimitar-horned oryx and blackbuck antelope to zebras, ostriches, and even American bison.
• ...and near: Of course, the park also welcomes plenty of Wisconsin wildlife, as well. Tour groups have reported sightings of many native species, including red-tailed hawks, beavers, garters snakes, and choruses of frogs and toads.
