Barrie Larvin dedicated his entire career to curating elegant wine experiences. His efforts in building Rio Las Vegas Hotel and Casino’s 130,000-bottle wine selection earned him mentions in Wine Spectator and Food & Wine Magazine. As the current president of VinNobles, Mr. Larvin’s goal is to expose seasoned tasters and aspiring connoisseurs alike to small-production wineries. His team of Master Sommeliers hand-selects and ships bottles to three tiers of members, seeking out exciting cult producers as well as exclusive bottlings that aren’t made available to retailers. Each package arrives at doorsteps with a wealth of background information for each bottle that provides invaluable insight into the winemaking process while also suggesting food pairings.
While the wine memberships help people experience new wines on a monthly basis, VinNobles’ certification courses expose them to a crash course on wine basics. During the online seminars, a master sommelier explains the fundamentals of tasting and assessing wines and also answers questions about getting wine stains out of pet fur.
