Porgie's was opened in 2021 as a tribute to George (Porgie) Berry, a big man with an even bigger personality. Porgie loved food, camping, watching old westerns, and listening to American Trilogy by Elvis. His family, who opened Porgie's in his honor, love that they are able to keep his memory and spirit alive by sharing some of his favorite things with the community and visitors of Rough River. That's why the restaurant's decor, friendly atmosphere, and menu are all designed with his taste in mind. Their forte is specialty hotdogs, barbeque, handmade sodas, and ice cream. All patrons are heartily welcomed at Porgie's Hotdog + Soda Shoppe to enjoy some of Porgie's favorites.
