Boone's Trace National Golf Club unravels across 120 acres in Central Kentucky's horse country, revealing a rolling landscape of woods, water, and wildlife. Heralded for its meticulously maintained greens and fairways, the course stretches to 6,659 yards from its back tees while challenging golfers at just about every bend.
The signature 17th hole, for instance, guards its greens with water and bunkers. The green is also very deep, but mounding on the right side can help errant shots roll toward the putting surface. On this hole—and several others across the course—par is a good score. Fortunately, the club also boasts a practice range, meaning golfers don't have to face such tests without warming up first.
