If you see us smiling, it's because we know we have the best job in the world and work in what boils down to one big playground. And when you're in the club, we want to do everything in our power to ensure you're having fun, too. Play early. Play often. Play on.

Little Rock Racquet Club Membership Types

Individual (ALL ACCESS)
An individual membership shall be applicable only to the named individual, whether married or not. An individual member's spouse or children, if any, shall not be entitled to the privileges of this membership, except as guests, and are subject to the guest policies established by the Club. An individual must be 15 years old to have a membership at the LRRC.

Family (ALL ACCESS)
A family membership is defined as any married couple or any two adults from the same immediate family, i.e., sister/brother, mother/daughter. Children of family members who are under age 19 are entitled to use of the Club in accordance with our child policies. Young adults, ages 1924, may be part of their family's membership for an additional monthly fee. When children reach the age of 25, they must convert their membership to an adult membership. In such cases, the joining fee will be waived if "young adult dues" were being paid for the child for the two months prior to their 25th birthday.

Dependents

Couples, individuals and seniors may add their children (or grandchildren in the case of seniors) to their membership, paying a monthly fee per dependent which varies based on age.
When a dependent reaches the age of 25, he or she must convert his or her membership to an adult membership. In such cases, the joining fee will be waved if "young adult dues" were being paid for the child for the two months prior to the 25th birthday.
Individuals may add children 18 and under to their membership for a fee of $10 per month per dependent.

Change In Status

Type
Members desiring to convert their individual membership to a family membership must pay the difference in joining fees. The adjusted monthly dues will be charged to the Member accordingly.
Reactivation
Members who cancel their membership and wish to rejoin the Club may do so by paying the lesser of the appropriate joining fee currently in effect or the total of the dues elapsed since the date of the cancellation.
Leave Of Absence
A Member may take a leave of absence for up to one year for a medical condition or temporary job transfer requiring an out-of-town move. The Membership Office will require a written statement from a physician or employer to verify the request.
Hold
Any Member may put their membership on hold if they are not using the Club but do not wish to resign their membership. During the hold, a monthly service fee will be charged to maintain the account.
Resignation
A Member may cancel his or her membership by submitting a written request and bringing his or her account balance to zero. A 30-day notice is required.

Applicable sales tax will be added to all joining fees and monthly dues.

Fitness

Barre
Barre is a unique total body workout that will lift your seat, tone your thighs and tighten your core! This class utilizes the ballet barre, sponge balls, and light dumbbells to perform small isometric movements that create long, lean muscles. This safe and effective class will take your workout routine to the next level.
Group Exercise

CrossFit

Yoga
In this class, you will perform sequences of yoga postures and stretches that are linked to the breath. The class promotes relaxation, rejuvenation, flexibility and strength.
Cardio and Weights
To keep you interested and on the equipment (not waiting for it), we've amassed a huge collection of cardio and resistance training equipment. You're sure to find something that inspires you. Members of the Racquet Club enjoy a country club like atmosphere with all of the amenities of a first class fitness center. The 3300 square foot fitness room and cardio theater features selectorized equipment by Cybex, free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, arc trainers, stairsteppers and incline trainers. Cycling
Group cycling is a cardiovascular workout on a stationary bike set to music. A resistance lever on the bike controls the intensity of the ride so participants can individualize their workouts with guidance from the instructor, of course.
Personal Training
Sometimes what you need to take your fitness to the next level is a little more structure, motivation and encouragement - which often takes the form of private and semi-private training. Whether you desire to carve some time off your mile, increase your flexibility or add the strength and dexterity to seamlessly carry a toddler, a briefcase and a café latte, without dropping anything (or anyone), we can construct a program to get you there. Our trainers will keep you engaged and inspired with new workouts, while also expanding your knowledge of fitness, so you can maintain your program in the future.
Small Group Training
Small groups are an affordable way to reap the benefits of hiring a personal trainer plus there's additional motivation and support found within a group. Contact any of our Personal Trainers or Josh Holt to schedule your training sessions.
Boot Camp
Boot Camp is a training camp with three 1 hour sessions per week instructed by Chet Wessman, a certified trainer. The military-style program will build off of your fitness base and push you to the next level. The program includes body weight and cardio exercises such as push ups, crunches and running. Recruits of all ages and levels are welcome to enlist.
Consultations
The Club offers complimentary Fitness Consultations for all members. During the session, a member of our staff will review your fitness goals, help you establish an appropriate exercise plan, introduce you to any equipment in which you are interested and design a basic program to get you going.

Nutrition

Nutritional Consultations
Sabotaging your goals? By working with a registered dietitian, Mary Wells, you can learn to make smarter food choices. Mary has a Masters Degree in Community Health and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. Her interests include early childhood feeding, weight loss, weight maintenance, maximizing workouts and performance in competition. Mary develops goals and strategies with her clients and coaches them to healthier and sustainable nutrition habits. Nutrition before, during, and after pregnancy is more than a prenatal vitamin. The class will cover healthy eating basics during these three phases of a woman's life, including by trimester and while breastfeeding. Come learn the latest on how baby's development can be nutritionally optimized.

How to Navigate the Trials and Tribulations of Toddler Mealtimes
Refusals or eating jags with your toddler sound familiar? Toddler feeding is both a challenge and an opportunity to set the course for nutrition-related health down the road. The class will include basics for healthy childhood eating and how to create meals and mealtimes which can enhance toddler acceptance of a variety of foods.

Girls Only: Social Nutrition
What teenage girls think they should eat and what they actually need to eat is often influenced by social media. Leagues

Indoor and outdoor tennis leagues are organized by levels for year-round play.
We have morning and evening leagues available. League fees include court time and tennis balls. Call Amy at 225-5711 for more information.

Group Lessons
Group tennis lessons are offered for children as young as four years old and incorporate a variety of games and drills. The focus of the lessons will be on learning tennis fundamentals, developing individual skills and practicing good sportsmanship. Groups are formed according to age and ability. Do Jo Tennis

In January 2009, we started a new and innovative way of teaching and organizing tennis within our junior program.
This program, called Dojo Tennis (meaning "the way"), provides a structure that allows each student to know and be recognized for the level at which they are playing and the skills they need to advance. Similar to martial arts grading, students will receive colored bandanas when they demonstrate proficiency in pre-defined skills through a testing process. The first level is White and from there students progress in the following order: Orange Green 1st and 2nd degree Blue 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree Brown 1st and 2nd degree Black 1st degree
We offer testing every three months and upon successful completion of a test, students receive a "skills sylabus" for the next level
Please note, there is a nominal testing fee.
It is our belief that Dojo Tennis accomplishes two things

Ace Elite Academy

Ace Elite Tennis Training Program
The Ace Elite Tennis Training Program is the premier junior tennis program at the Little Rock Racquet Club. The program is designed for top-level players and those who aspire to be top-level players. It is a rigorous training program focused on preparing players for state, sectional, and national tournaments.
ACE Progressive System of Coaching
The program utilizes the ACE Progressive System of Coaching, a comprehensive technical, tactical, philosophical, and evolving training system based on the fundamental commonalities of the best players that have ever played the game of tennis, both past and present. All coaches in the ACE Elite Program are certified in the ACE System. The system has produced over 20 national and international junior tennis championships. The first eight players to train in the system all achieved a top ten national ranking within three years of beginning ACE training. Some of the current players trained under this system include the 2008 Boys' 14 Orange Bowl Champion and one of the final 16 women at the 2009 Wimbledon Championships.
The ACE System is based upon the principle of deep practice, a targeted, focused practice
where the player operates at the edges of his or her ability and struggles to meet the demands of a particular drill or activity. Deep practice turns mistakes into skills. As the ACE player struggles to meet the demands of practice, ACE coaches provide constant feedback and correction. Deep practice is the type of practice utilized by almost every athlete who has achieved world-class skill.
Technical
Coaches in the ACE Elite program utilize the ACE technical system, which is based on the biomechanical commonalities of the best ball strikers in the world. Using Dartfish, the most advanced video analysis technology on the market, ACE coaches compare each player's technique to the appropriate professional model and then work with the player to achieve the correct technical reference points.
Tactical
ACE coaches teach the ACE tactical system, a comprehensive system of strategy based upon the principle of putting constant pressure on one's opponent. The system utilizes the principles of physics and geometry, enabling the ACE player to keep his or her opponent on defense and produce weak shots for the ACE player to exploit. Players are given a purpose or goal for every point they play, including the most effective shot and the appropriate recovery for each situation. Players are held accountable in both practice and in match play for all components of the tactical system. During practices, ACE coaches employ state of the art ball machine drills, live drills, point play, and match play to teach the tactical system and the shots required to execute the tactics. ACE coaches also use on-court video cameras and Dartfish video analysis to reinforce proper tactics.
Physical
The ACE system requires each player to be in top physical condition. Players are tested initially and periodically using USTA fitness testing protocol to identify each player's strengths and weaknesses. Identifying each player's strengths and weaknesses enables staff to recommend exercises or programs to enhance the player's on-court performance and avoid injury.
Mental Toughness and Focus
The ACE program instills mental toughness and mental focus in every player who participates in the program. ACE drills are designed to challenge each player so that he or she has to reach beyond his or her current ability and struggle to meet the demands of the particular drill. The ACE tactical system provides a goal and purpose for each point the player plays, thereby helping to instill mental focus.
Code of Conduct
Every player participating in the ACE Elite Program is required to agree to a written code of conduct setting forth the expected behavior of the player during practice and competition and the punishment for violation of the code. The purpose of the code is to ensure that the program develops players who respect their coaches, other players in the program, and their opponents, as well as produces players of the highest caliber.
Tournament Coaching
ACE certified coaches provide tournament coaching at most of the important state, sectional, and national tournaments. Tournament coaching includes conducting pre-match warm-up, watching and charting matches, split-set coaching, and post-match coaching.
ACE Elite Links
The ACE Elite Program has a facebook group, "Dojo Ace Elites." The program also has a private Dartfish TV channel, "Dojo Ace Elite T.V.," where players in the program and their parents can watch videos of the players as well as instructional videos.
The ACE Network
ACE coaches in the USTA's Southern Section work together to produce the best players in the South and United States. ACE coaches, including Heath Waters, will travel to the LRRC and conduct high performance training sessions or ACE camps. In turn, ACE coaches at the LRRC will travel with players to Atlanta and other cities in the South for ACE training sessions and camps, as well as workouts with top level juniors and tour players.
Training Schedule
Afternoon group tennis training for the ACE Elite Program is held Monday through Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Early morning drop-in group tennis training is held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. Group physical training for the ACE Program is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:10 to 7:50 a.m.

Ace Elite Coaches

Daniel Cornelison
Daniel is certified both by the USPTA and ACE. Daniel has studied the ACE technical and tactical systems extensively and has developed advanced ball machine drills specifically designed to teach the fundamentals of the ACE tactical system. He has more than a decade of tennis coaching experience, the last three of which have been at the LRRC. He has coached several D1 college players as well as top juniors. Daniel achieved a top seventy ranking in Boys 18's in Texas after picking up a racquet only two years earlier. Daniel played D2 college tennis.
Will Campbell
An ACE certified coach, Will has worked extensively with Heath Waters, the founder of the ACE System and current coach on the ATP and WTA tours, in order to become an expert in the ACE technical and tactical systems. He also has spent considerable time with Brian Gordon, the leading expert in tennis biomechanics and the founder of 3-D Tennis Technologies. Will currently coaches one of the top 12 players in the USTA's Southern Section and has coached several top junior players. He is a former Arkansas high school state singles champion, a former number 1 player in Men's 40's singles in Arkansas, and a member of an NAIA college tennis team that was ranked third nationally.

Child Supervision

When a Lifeguard Is On Duty

1 Month to 5 Years
Parents of children in this age group must provide "touch supervision," i.e., maintaining an arm's length distance between you and your child.
6 to 7 Years
Parents must maintain visual supervision from the pool or deck.
8 and 9 Years
Children may swim unsupervised provided a parent remains on premises.
10 to 14 Years
Children may swim unsupervised if we have a signed Child Consent Form on file. Children in this age range may be asked to pass a swim test if there is concern about their safety.

When No Lifeguard Is On Duty

1 Month to 5 Years
Touch supervision.
6 - 14 Years
Visual supervision from the pool deck.
Locker Room Policy
Children are not allowed in Locker Rooms without adult supervision. Two bathrooms, two showers and the changing room located on the 25 yard pool deck are available for their use.
Inclement Weather
The pool will be cleared when thunder is heard or lightening is seen and remain cleared until 20 minutes after the last sound of thunder or sighting of lightning. For your convenience, the lifeguard will post "pool closed" signs and will alert the Front Desk. If it is raining and there is no thunder or lightning, swimmers will be allowed to swim at the discretion of the lifeguards.

Aquafit

Aquafit
Designed for all levels of fitness, this is a cardiovascular and muscular conditioning class in the pool. The water offers resistance rather than impact so it's gentle on your joints. All classes are complimentary. Monday - Saturday: 9:00 - 10:00 am.

Tumble N' Play

Diaper Fun
(6 months to 1 year, parent/child) Moms and babies experience music, mirror play, developmental skill exercises, and parachute play. All activities are geared to increasing kinesthetic and spatial awareness, strength, equilibrium, and best of all, making some new baby buddies.
Toddler Fun
(1 year to 2 years, parent/child) This class is non-stop action from obstacle course to skill development time, to prop play, music, dancing and parachute play. Just try to keep up, Mom!
Tumble Fun
(2 to 3 years, parent/child) This group is ready to tackle more challenges using tumbling, balancing and strengthening skills, all wrapped around rhythmic exercises, dancing, props and parachute play.
Movement Fun
(3 to 5 years, child only) A wonderful mixture of preschool gymnastics, creative movement, gross motor development skills and games geared to teaching young ones how to work as a group or as individuals toward a common goal. Great fun while learning.

Day Care Overview

Usage
The Day Care, located in the main Clubhouse, is available for all children, ages one month through seven years, for an hourly fee. Parents must remain on the premises while their child is in the Child Care. The maximum allotted Child Care stay is three hours. Parents or guardians must sign children in and out and leave special care information on file for attendants. Guests of members may use the Child Care on a space available basis, paying the fee set by management.

Safety
Your child's safety is our utmost concern. All of our Child Care employees are screened using the Child Maltreatment background check available through the Department of Human Services. Additionally, we perform a criminal background check through Background Information Systems of America on all Club employees. For your peace of mind, children will only be released to parents or a designated guardian as specified on the information sheets we maintain in your child's file or the daily sign-in sheet. Hour of Operation: Monday - Thursday: 8:00 am to 8:00 pm; Friday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm; Saturday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm; Sunday: 1:30 to 5:00 pm.

Party Scheduling
During the summer, swim parties may only be booked for weekdays. During the school year, parties may only be booked for weekends. To check availability, call Robbin Benbrook at 225-5711. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your preferred date and time. The balance of the party fee is due the day of the party.

Day Care
Our trained and caring staff will do everything possible to make your child feel comfortable and happy while you work out, play tennis, have lunch or partake in the myriad activities, programs and services available at the Club.
Locker Rooms
We want every part of your athletic club experience to exceed expectations and this aspect of our facilities is no exception. The LRRC locker room is designed for functionality, comfort and performance helping you prepare for, or wind down after, your experience at the club. Both the women's and men's areas are equipped with a whirlpool, sauna, steam room, shower and towel service for relaxing before and after your workouts. All of this and of course, plenty of complimentary, full-size lockers to accommodate your gear.
Private lockers
Private lockers and associated laundry service are available for a monthly fee. 1/2 lockers rent for $15 per month and full lockers rent for $25 per month. Private lockers may be rented for as long as you wish. Please contact the Membership Office for availability.
