All our shoe specialists are trained by Adam, a certified Pedorthist, to watch the feet, legs and body work together in the running or walking process and to explain what they see to the customer.

About Owners

Adam and Micheline owned The Runners High in Menlo Park and Los Altos for almost fourteen years with great success.
They received national recognition as one of the top 50 running stores in the country. The Runners High had an excellent reputation for individualized customer service, product knowledge and expertise in fitting shoes to any foot. Adam and Micheline have brought this same philosophy to On Your Mark Performance.
Adam Kemist is passionate about and dedicated to offering customers
the very best in knowledge, guidance and product in their quest to a better lifestyle, dreams of excellence in their sport or simply the enjoyment of living life to its fullest.
Adam is a board-certified pedorthist and provides biomechanics expertise and knowledge of specialty walking and running footwear.
The depth of knowledge in foot and leg function is what drives the customer experience here at On Your Mark Performance. Adam is able to expertly fill orthotic prescriptions and evaluate for custom insoles. In addition, he creates custom insoles by appointment.
Adam is certified in Kinesio taping.
Kinesio taping by a professional trained in the taping protocol has shown healing results that were unheard of before this technology.
Adam's running history speaks for itself.
He began running in his youth and continues today. Adam ran competitively in high school and college. He still holds the record for the 800 meter at Aragon High School. He competed in the 800 meter and mile for Northern Arizona University and in the Big Sky Conference. He has competed in many local and California road races and triathlons over the years. He has been coaching cross country and track at Sacred Heart Preparatory High School in Atherton since 2009.
Micheline organized and implemented Olivia's Miles, a favorite Menlo Park run, from 2005 to 2007.
This family event raised over $70,000 for children's research at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.
At OYM, Micheline is responsible for training staff, coordinating and staffing events, and community outreach.
Micheline's love of running keeps her sane and active in community events and her experience in triathlons helps her understand the needs of customers seeking support in their sport. Micheline ran track in high school then took a break until after college, when she began competing in road races and triathlons all over the United States, breaking many course records for her age group.

We watch your entire body, not just your feet, go through the motions and give advice from a whole body perspective.
Adam Kemist, owner, is a certified Pedorthist, trained in the art of Kinesio Taping and creates custom footbeds and orthotics.
Local health professionals refer patients to Adam because of his specific training in lower extremities and biomechanics and his proven track record in healing techniques.
Adam and Micheline have a 14 year history as previous owners of The Runners High in Menlo Park and Los Altos.
All shoe specialists are personally trained by Adam and Micheline.
Staff are runners and triathletes who know local terrain, places to train and races.
