Imagine being in a high-speed foot chase at Los Angeles International Airport with law enforcement agencies in hot pursuit. Now imagine that chase being fun, perfectly legal, and for a great cause, and you get the thrill of the Tommy Scott Memorial LAX Run. Here's what to expect from this unique adventure that offers runners the rare chance to take on the turf of the historic airport hub.
- The Cause: Funds from the race benefit the Tommy Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, which honors the legacy of the fallen heroic LAX police officer by helping kids achieve their college dreams
- The Course: The route—which is divided into a 5K, 10K, or half marathon—begins and ends at Westchester/LAX Fire Station No. 5, where it passes the Tommy Scott memorial site and continues along the perimeter of the Los Angeles International Airport. Each course is certified by the Road Running Technical Council of USA Track & Field.
- The Prizes: All finishers receive a customized medal.
