Bare-belly portraits are an essential part of any pregnant woman's journey, and photographer Mary Ann Halpin was one of the pioneers that started the trend. Her first book, Pregnant Goddesshood: A Celebration of Life, attracted a bounty of media attention for its portraits of expectant mothers. Instead of furthering the aura of mystery that once surrounded pregnancy, Mary Ann captured photos that celebrated this special season in a woman’s life. Her second collection of photos, Fearless Women: Midlife Portraits, rejoices in a different season—midlife—with subjects such as Joni Mitchell, Leeza Gibbons, and Erin Brockovich. Through Mary Ann Halpin Photography, the groundbreaking artist gives all expectant mothers the star treatment with maternity and newborn photo shoots.
