What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Located in the heart of Venice, just footsteps from the beach and under wall-to-wall skylights, at INHALE VENICE you will be guided by some of most experienced, influential and acclaimed yoga teachers, many pioneers in their field, ³live² under one roof. Whether a yoga class, teacher training or retreat, INHALE VENICE offers a diverse menu of styles and classes from which to choose to address your particular need; from sweaty Vinyasa Flow to somatically-informed Hatha Flow, the deep yum of Yin Yoga & Mindfulness Meditation, Live Music Yoga Journeys, Yoga For All Bodies. Many classes are accompanied by live music tastemakers or a thoughtful soundtrack to help you dive in deeper into your practice. We also offer our signature Yoga, Art & Culture retreats and trainings, unique 'mindful travel' boutique retreats that seemlessly merge your yoga on the mat with insider's only cultural immersions and eco-adventures into untouched nature.
INHALE VENICE is the ONLY teacher-run yoga studio in the country that profit shares with each and every teacher. As a pioneer of the "social purpose yoga business model", INHALVE VENICE is also one of the few yoga studios in the country with such a strong social outreach ethos. We actively secure funding to send our teachers out into under-served communities, from youth at risk to formerly homeless elderly, so we can pay our teachers to offer yoga & meditation classes for FREE to those communities who would not otherwise be able to afford classes. At our brick & mortar seaside location, we also offer something we call Justice Pricing: suggested donation dropin and series tiers so that everyone is included.
Lastly, many of us are residents, artists and lovers of Venice California. So we strive to be a bridge between and meeting place for Venice's growing evolution as well as it's vibrant cultural history by promoting our local artists.
Our mission is to meet each student, whether a seasoned teacher or beginner, where they are on their personal quest for transformation and growth. We welcome people of all shapes, sizes, experience levels, socio-economic backgrounds, and sexual & gender orientations.
OUR CORE COMMITMENT IS TO LEAVE EACHOTHER, THINGS, SPACES BETTER THAN WE FOUND THEM.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
They say necessity is the mother of invention. All of the core group of our teachers were let go, many after 14years at the same studio, when the studio went out of business. As it turned out, we had an ally down the street who was brave and generous enough to take on and support our mission to open a socially-minded, profit sharing, community based yoga, art and culture program. We have a passion for the meeting of yoga, psychology, art & culture and the opportunity presented itself. It¹s not always easy being grass roots, but it is deeply rewarding.
What do you love most about your job?
This one is easy. WE LOVE THE PEOPLE. OUR COMMUNITY! We are passionate about providing a space for the community, for supporting our local Venice artists and for providing yoga that is accessible to all with an emphasis on mindfulness, inclusivity, positive body image, and social justice.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
Walking into Inhale Venice was one of the BEST things I've done for myself since moving to LA from NY in January. Under one roof, you have some of the most dedicated and experienced Yoga teachers on the West Coast. I immediately signed up for 10 classes and have had the awesome fortune of practicing with Micheline Berry, Christi Christensen, Daniel Stewart and Hala Khouri. It's the REAL deal people and tucked away behind a restaurant a half block from the beach on Rose Ave. It's truly like finding a small, precious diamond on the beach. I feel blessed and excited beyond belief. Come see for yourself! I promise I won't tell you I told you so!
