A sea of disembodied index fingers each curl downward on a board. Glittery metallic shades, neon shapes, and pink flowers cover their nails. This display is not an avant-garde sculpture, but a nail board that Om Threading, Nails and Spa uses to showcase the creative designs perfected by their nail technicians.

Pedicurists trim, file, and paint toes beneath a pool of lamplight. Their clients recline in ivory-colored pedi thrones as manicurists apply acrylic tips, CND Shellac, and intricate nail designs atop wooden tables. Across the salon, hairstylists chitchat while transforming 'dos with permanent hair-straightening treatments and extensions, which can be glued, sewn, or fused in. Threading—the ancient art of removing individual hairs with a cotton thread—is a specialty of Om's aestheticians, who also perform traditional waxing services and seven different facials to complement every skin type from acne-prone to transparent.
