Since childhood, the founder and owner of Premier Veterinary Care and Resort, Dr. Jennifer Hamer, knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She used to rescue all sorts of animals and soon her entire family was involved in taking care after hamsters, fish, birds, cats, dogs, and chinchilla. Years later, her passion resulted in a diploma from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. In her everyday work, Dr. Hamer uses years of hands-on experience and training acquired while working as an emergency veterinary technician in a large specialty referral hospital. Together with the team of highly educated specialists—and pet lovers—she provides services varying from preventive care and surgery to stress-free grooming and daycare. The facilities and the clinic are designed to give pets visiting, or staying at, Premier Veterinary Care and Resort maximum of comfort and the amount of loving care each animal deserves.
