Eating tapas is more than a meal; it can be a social gathering based around a bevy of delectable concoctions with friends and family at Red Sky Tapas & Bar. Red Sky is the perfect restaurant for any group-dining occasion, such as celebrating a promotion, getting your braces off, or successfully building a moat. Share Caribbean-inspired tapas and listen to live music (like dueling piano players) in the beachy, sunsety atmospherey.

Red Sky offers a lengthy tapas menu. Try the renowned pan-seared crab cakes with mango vinaigrette, blackened tilapia tacos, or fried-green tomatoes with jalapeno aioli, or order the black bean hummus and taste why one reviewer says you should try anything on the menu with it. Finish your meal with a succulent dessert like tres leches, a Spanish-style three-milk cake infused with rum. Tapas and desserts range in price from $4 to $16, with most hovering around $6 or $7. At these prices, your $40 Groupon (or two Groupons for parties over 10) can really make a dent in the dinner bill.

Partner Terry Kirby and chef Brian Kennington created a restaurant with a Midtown vibe and a tropical feel. Red Sky's walls are a vibrant red, illuminated by the subtle glow of the hanging light fixtures. As you sip on a martini, tropical mojito, or exotic brew from the extensive cocktail list, you'll feel like you're on a white-sand beach, soaking in the red sky of a Caribbean sunset and listening to popular Caribbean singer Leonid Osipovich Utyosov.

Music is a big draw to Red Sky Tapas & Bar—the restaurant boasts live entertainment seven days a week. Fridays and Saturdays feature dueling pianists battling it out from 9 p.m. to midnight, and Wednesdays serve up the soothing stylings of a local Spanish guitarist.

Red Sky Tapas & Bar gets five stars on Kudzu and four stars on Yelp:

  • We go here all the time now... We have eventually tried everything on the menu and it is all delicious...The martini list is never-ending.... Live music only completes the scene, especially the fun dueling pianos on the weekend. This is THE place to go for the whole evening or just to stop in for a few drinks, entertainment and light food at the end of an evening. – eastcobbmommy, Kudzu
  • The food, service, and general atmosphere (other than being in a strip center) were impressive. Every one of the tapas our table of six ordered and shared was terrific. – Thomas R., Yelp
  • I have yet to taste an item off the menu that wasn't awesome. Red Sky has an excellent variety of martinis to accompany a full service bar. With a date and a bottle of wine we sampled a half dozen tapas and enjoyed a dessert for around 70 bucks with tip. – Mike B., Yelp
