Pruller Restaurant, Marlborough

At Pruller Restaurant, there is no written menu. Instead, everything is served buffet style, including nearly a dozen different kinds of meat that are strung onto giant skewers, cooked in a churrasco barbecue, and sliced directly onto visitors' plates. It's a Brazilian specialty that owner Erich Pruller—who hails from Sao Paolo—happily walks first-time guests through.

The meaty selection of beef sirloin, pork shoulder, and bacon-wrapped chicken accompanies other Brazilian entrees, salads, and side dishes. Sometimes, the buffet detours to Italy through such dishes as ravioli and spaghetti and a secret tunnel in the back. Overall, the experience at Pruller is quite casual, a fact that's reaffirmed by what the Boston Globe referred to as a "simple and cheerful" dining area.
