Golfin Glow Run, Mesa

On most days, golf courses are serious places, where players dress in slacks, silently watch their friends tee off, and let faster golfers behind them play through. On the day of the Golfin' Glow Run, all of that changes. That's when runners decked out in crazy costumes and glow sticks descend on Dobson Ranch Golf Course for the nighttime fun run. They whoop and holler while dashing down a lighted path, and race their fellow participants to the end of the 5K course.

When it's all over, they don't sit and reflect on a birdie they missed or their failure to find a dancing gopher; rather, they shimmy to music and drink and chow down on food. They also participate in a raffle and awards ceremony.
