At Senor Sushi, the chefs look beyond bold sauces when adding spice to their rolls, drawing instead from a locus of fiery cuisine: Mexico. This mix of Japanese and Latin cuisine results in neatly packaged bites of flavor, from the calamari roll's panko-crusted squid, crab, and cream cheese to the Mexican roll's salmon tempura, spicy crab, vegetables, and hot sauce. Many of the inventive maki rolls are also deep-fried for extra crunch—such as the creamy Tres Quesos roll—and others incorporate ingredients beyond seafood staples. The Culichi roll, for example, wraps chicken and beef alongside shrimp, crab, and octopus before it's baked and topped with a three-cheese mix.
Traditional offerings also abound on the menu. Guests can snack on california rolls in addition to several kinds of sashimi, including octopus, albacore, and eel. The restaurant hosts eclectic events to match its diversified kitchen, entertaining tables with comedy nights, DJs, and screenings of soccer matches, an exciting departure from conventional sushi-bar television: static that sounds like the ocean.
