What was the inspiration to start or run this business?

Essex Rowing Association is a newly-formed, member-run organization committed to bringing rowing opportunities and excellence in rowing back to the diverse communities along the Merrimack River. Building on the positive heritage of the former Essex Rowing Club, the new Essex Rowing Association brings fresh perspectives, coaching, and opportunities to the Methuen site that sits in the middle of the eight mile stretch of river running between Dracut and Lawrence.

What do you love most about your job?

I love seeing our athletes take their first successful strokes on the water, witnessing them develop a lifelong love for the sport.

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?

The most fulfilling feedback has been that Essex has given people a feeling of belonging and accomplishment that they never thought possible. The rowing community is welcoming and the sport can be picked up at any point in life, making it perfect for those looking for a new passion and friendships.
