The food is very authentic and tasted great

The food is fantastic! Not the fanciest of places and there's no margaritas or beer, but it's worth it for the delicious food and reasonable prices. Plan to go for Taco Tuesday ($1.25 per taco)!

Delicious. Absolutely great. Large portions too. Chips and salsa bar was included and incredible. You may want to all ahead to make sure they are open though.

The salsa bar is great, there are several varieties available. The basket for chips is quite small, so if you sample a few different kinds of salsa you will need to make a few trips.

Service was friendly, though not very attentive. Our server, probably owner, was visibly disappointed when she learned I had a Groupon. Also, they only allow you to use your Groupon on about half of the available platters. This really should be disclosed beforehand.

Best Mexican food we have had in a long time! We especially liked the orange pork. The dining room is stark with an end-of-the-day fast food ambiance, but you must wait to be seated. We went on a Wednesday at 6PM and the place was full, perhaps because the Groupon expired in two days? One person took care of multiple tasks - phone/takeout/hostess/server resulting in extremely slow service all around. She was pleasant and apologized though. There is no beer or alcohol. I will return but with different expectations. We thought that at $10.95 - $12.95, the platters were priced a bit high for the poor ambiance.

The former owner of local hotspot Taco Morelos, restaurateur Gaspar Perez now reigns over the kitchen at Las Teresitas Mexican Grill. Here, he's ramped up his well-known Mexican favorites with high-quality ingredients and bold flavors, and this time, he's keeping the entire operation in the family. According to City Pages—which awarded Las Teresitas the 2012 Best Taco award for its chorizo taco—Perez's wife waits tables as his cousin cooks up fajitas, mole chicken, and tacos stuffed with brisket, Mexican-style barbecue pork, or beef cheek. The family's even in the restaurant's name, which Perez chose in honor of his mother (Teresa) and his daughter (also Teresa), who gained popularity at Taco Morelos for greeting customers at the door with a smile and fresh tortilla chips.

The free chips are still a thing. In the center of the casual dining room stands a complementary chips-and-salsa bar, showcasing a spread of nine colorful homemade salsas in varying degrees of heat. Perez encourages guests to sample these salsas—which include tomato chipotle and chili de arbol varieties—and use them to customize their meals or secretly spice up a friend's horchata.
