Red paddleboards drift well off the shoreline of Lake Minnetonka, where they bathe in the summer sun and ride the breezy, calm waters. Atop each board, exercisers follow personal trainer Roxie’s cues as she leads them through a classic series of floor-based Pilates exercises. While lifting their limbs and performing planks, students must keep their balance on the paddleboards, strengthening their core and upper-body muscles in the process.
Tired of indoor exercise, Roxie decided to combine her extensive fitness background and Minnesota’s breathtaking geography by founding Paddleboard Fitness. She provides everything her students need to participate, including life jackets, paddles, and polaroid cameras to snap pictures of Nessie.
