Q&A with Amalia Ramirez, Marketing Director

Sometimes the little things make all the difference. Do you bake any supplementary services into your main services?
We give clients a free mini bottle of nail polish bottle to take home after their manicure, and offer free brow shaping with every facial.

What are some of your most popular services? What do you think clients love them so much?
Spa packages. Our clients can take advantage of our spa packages to receive a few of our most popular services at a special package price. All our services are high-end spa treatments, using top brand name products, which ordinarily would be much more expensive. Because our services are performed by students, we can offer them to our customers at a lower price. Our customers love our spa packages because they get a real spa package experience at a lower price.

How did you get started in the beauty industry? Did you have an "ah-ha" moment in life?
Cristina started in the beauty industry as a young girl, following in her mother's footsteps. Her mother, Gina, had started the first spa in Ontario, Gina's Spa in Waterloo. Cristina studied aesthetics in Italy because there were no aesthetic schools in Ontario at the time. When she returned, she decided to open Gina's College alongside her mother, making it Ontario's first school of aesthetics. Cristina is passionate about education and she has always been a trailblazer in the beauty industry. She applied these same philosophies to Gina's College, making it an environment where students are free to pursue their passion in the beauty industry while learning and keeping abreast of the latest industry developments and newest technologies. In fact, the school's slogan is "your future, our passion."

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
We have three campuses across Ontario, and we offer hairstyling at our Waterloo campus. Our college operates at international standards, as we are a CIDESCO certified school. Our CIDESCO program allows our students to pursue beauty education at the highest standard available, in order to receive the prestigious international CIDESCO beauty therapist diploma.
