Daniel Rose, who's worked as a hypnotherapist for more than three decades, views the brain as an iceberg; conscious thoughts are only the tip of it. In his hypnotherapy sessions, he tries to engage with the rest of the iceberg—the subconscious— and treat the source of issues ranging from smoking and compulsive eating to low self-esteem.
