East Yoga's experienced teachers talk students through twists, bends, and stretches, and encourage proper alignment with hands-on adjustments during Vinyasa yoga classes scheduled seven days a week. Beginning classes take place six days a week to introduce novices to basic yoga positions, alignment, and powerful breathing techniques that can be used to cool hot soup with one puff and extinguish birthday candles on the other side of a brick wall. Students deepen their practice in intermediate classes incorporate more arm balances and inversions that build more stamina and strength. Vigorous open-level classes challenge yoga connoisseurs with 90- or 60-minute rounds of dynamic sequences that flow through difficult poses. Relax and recharge on Friday nights with a restorative Vinyasa class, a chain of select postures that rejuvenate the body, or try a slow-flow Vinyasa that reaches a deeper state of meditation while following the lead of an extremely flexible turtle. Prenatal classes are also available to assist expectant moms in preparing for labor and delivery.
