About Soapology
Fizzies. Buttercreams. Fresh mint salt. What sound—and, in most cases, look—like treats from some dreamy confectionary are actually the aromatic creations of Soapology, which was rated by CBS New York as one of New York City's best soap shops. This bath, body, and home boutique in the Meatpacking District is inspired by both bygone apothecaries and modern tastes, leading to some truly refreshing combinations. See updates on Facebook or follow them on Instagram, and read on to learn about a few of their most distinctive creations:
Yuzu bath fizzie: Both sizes of these sun-yellow bath bombs are infused with five types of oil to leave skin silky-soft. Yuzu, an Asian citrus fruit, has long been used for bathing in Japanese culture because of its calming, immune-boosting effects.
Tobacco and caramel candle: Not everything at Soapology is fruit-scented. This soy, vegan candle is decidedly muskier, sweetening plumes of toasted tobacco with notes of rich caramel. And like all of Soapology's products, this one is nontoxic, lead-free, and handmade right in Manhattan.
Fresh cut soaps: The namesake products look as good as they smell. Bars of lemongrass soap, for instance, catch the eye with hunks of green and yellow, and lilac bars with swirls of violet and white look like slabs of postmodern marble.
Custom-scented Buttercream body butters: Soapology's aromas are sure to create more indecision than a US-map labeling quiz. Combine your favorite scents or come up with something completely new to create a personalized Buttercream, a nongreasy moisturizer infused with shea butter and pumpkin-seed oil.
