If you fantasize about something simpler—some place that's accessible but idyllic, a little slice of the American Dream—you might be imagining something just like Smolak Farms. Tucked away within New England's lush Merrimack Valley, the now-busting farm had a modest beginning as a rustic little farm stand on the side of the road back into the 80's. From there, it slowly developed into an expansive destination, beckoning families to visit for a scoop of ice cream, wander through its apple orchards, or just stroll by its placid pond to enjoy the crisp, clean air. A variety of you-pick crops are available throughout the warmer months, while pumpkins and Christmas trees are available seasonally. And, in addition to welcoming guests for activities such as low-key hayrides, the farm is also a popular spot for weddings and other special events, and the farm animals are always available to visit.
