They ended up coming almost 7 hours past the scheduled time. My furniture got wet and I had to dry it all off when they got it to my place. We left the first place at the same time &they arrived at the new house 20-25 minutes after I did. They weren't equipped or able to take my bed apart and since I was paying by the hour i had to tell them to leave it so we could go. I was more than a little upset having wasted my whole day waiting for them. When they pulled into the driveway, they knocked out so many branches on the tree outfront that the branches filled half the carport (my landlord is obviously upset about that). Then when they left, they left huge tire marks in the side yard.

The service was great, the administration of the service was not. The two men that actually packed my truck, were great! They were on-time , moved quick but with care. Packed the items in the truck as tight and efficient as possible without justifying the security and safety of my items. I had the two hour service and they packed my 2 bedroom house in under the 2 hours. My opinion of the administration of Mike's moving is that (1) they have a poor system of taking reservations and properly booking, contracting and confirming appointments, and/or (2) they used this 2 hour Groupon service to only market and upsell full moves and these sales tactics create undue stress to their clients. With the stress people have already with a move, we do not need poor vendor administration. Regarding the booking process. I called three times - once placing the move request and twice to inquire on a contract that I was not receiving. Although I called about a month in advance of my move, my contract didn't come until a week before the move. I then got a call around 4:30 PM the day before my move to be told my timeslot was double booked and could I adjust my time. Since I was renting my own truck for a limited amount of time, I told Mike's Moving this was not possible. In addition, since I was called so late in the day the day before my move, I would have had a penalty on the truck I reserved if I needed to cancel it. I got a call back in about 30 minutes telling me everything was set for my original timeslot. Another issue with the booking process is that I was assessed a fuel surcharge which was not in the fine print. The fine print did have additional costs allocated outside of two counties - Orange and Seminole. My service was in Orange, but that did not matter. On my first booking inquiry I was told the charge was $20.00 after giving my zip code. On a follow-up call I was told it was $30.00. When I questioned this, Mike's Moving dropped it to $25.00. Considering this seemed to be out of the Groupon terms, I believe this should have been $0.00. Regarding the upsell - I had been asked to upsell my Groupon on my original booking call a month ago and declined. I thought this upsell was reasonable and didn't have much concern at the offer. When I received the call regarding the double-booking of my timeslot, I was then asked if Mike's Moving could do the full move (adding truck and unload) at a discounted price. I did not want the added cost a month ago and again did not want the added cost and declined. Considering the late call and small amount of time (30 mins) they were able to make my original timeslot work, I thought that the issue may have been another tactic to win a larger selling contract. I should also note, I offer Mike's Moving to move my two hour appointment earlier, from 9AM to 8AM. This would have gotten his movers to the double-booked appointment sooner. Mike's Movers declined this accommodation and said the 9AM appointment would be fine. Again, another indicator, this double-book issue could have been an upsell tactic.

There some hidden fees. I understand that is industry standard to start the clock when the movers leave the shop but that information should have been disclosed at the purchase of the groupon.
