Q&A with the Owner
Do you or your staff have any special certifications or degrees?
All of our sail-training staff—including the director of operations—are experienced sailors. Along with a passion for sailing, they are nationally certified and can provide training for Sail Canada certification.
What's one tip for first-time customers that will make them feel like regulars?
No prior sailing experience is required. Just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn all that the sailing lifestyle has to offer.
When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
My passion for sailing started when my parents enrolled me in sailing camp at age nine. After being involved with all aspects of sailing for twenty years, both on the race course and exploring different sailing destinations, I decided to turn my passion for sailing into a business. Now I help others discover how much fun sailing can be.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Sailing isn't just for the rich and famous. In fact, the vast majority of sailors lie on the other side of the spectrum. Sailing can complement any budget, and you can even enjoy it without owning your own boat. Also, there aren't many activities that you can pursue from age 5 to 80—but sailing is one of them. It's also an activity that you can share with friends and family while making memories to last a lifetime. That's why many sailors say that "a bad day on the water sailing still beats a good day at the office."
