Rock N Roll a la mode, Palatine

After downtown Palatine was built up with luxury condos and restaurants in the early 2000s, new parents Janice and Tyler Holcomb noticed a lack of spaces where families could gather. To fill this void, they created a rock ‘n’ roll–themed restaurant, welcoming clans to munch on burgers while bobbing their heads to live music. Diners dig into plates of grilled-to-order Angus burgers, Chicago-style hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches. Meals are topped off with housemade ice cream—which is crafted from Wisconsin-sourced cream and delights tongues in 32 flavors. Throughout the dining room, a movie screen projects rock 'n' roll videos and live pianists and acoustic bands regale patrons with thumping beats. For alfresco noshing, patrons can head to the outdoor dining space to bask in sweeping downtown views. The restaurant also hosts kids' birthday parties and karaoke nights, and spoils appetites with a wall of chocolates and candies more awe-inspiring than the fact that Elvis Presley just moved into the diner's basement.
