Kayaks were in fairly good shape (we used a tandem). Spruce Creek is calm water which makes for an enjoyable experience regardless of age. Two hours on the creek was enough exercise for us (sr.citizens). Surrounding area was very pleasant as well. Well worth the price.

Kayaking was really fun on the creek with my grandson. During the week it's not busy and feels really peaceful. I'd definitely go back again.

Very scenic creek perfect to kayak around for a few hours - you can travel in either direction from the launch point. Lots of shade from trees along the shore so you do not bake. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

I love this place and will keep visiting! Plus, the wildlife you see all around is incredible. We actually saw a pretty big gator sunning away. Didn't get too close, of course! Cracker Creek is worth visiting.

5th time for me. Always good, but need to clear fallen trees for best trip experience as best part is north or to the right of launch area. Fortunately my first three times you could get through, but last two times impossible for me and guest.

From Our Editors

One of the few undisturbed black-water streams still coursing through Florida, Spruce Creek teems with endangered wildlife flitting through placid waters and along its verdant shores. The outfitters at Cracker Creek Canoeing equip adventurers to explore those backwaters with kayaks, pontoons, and even hydro bikes, which chart courses through dense hardwood forests, cypress swamps, and coastal marshes. Additionally, Cracker Creek Canoeing’s launch point occupies a 20-acre 1930s homestead retrofitted with picnic tables, restrooms, and maps for hopelessly lost tugboat captains.
