Hundreds of years ago, the African bird's eye chili made its way around the Cape of Good Hope, mystifying the palates of those it encountered. It was just one of the spices and seasonings that landed in Portugal via the spice trade, forever changing the country's food in the process. At Peri Peri, chefs honors that cross-cultural cuisine with dishes inspired by Southern Africa, the East Indies, and the many ports of call in between. Their authentic dishes include peri-peri prawns, fragrant curries, chicken, beef, lamb and skewered sosaties filled with flame-kissed meat.
