Do you like your tacos hard, soft, or fluffy? If you're confused by the last option, then you haven't been to Picos Tacos Cerveza. The eatery specializes in what it calls "fluffy" tacos—freshly made corn tortillas that are pan fried until they puff up like the chest of a politician when he notices a camera. The resulting texture of the tacos (known elsewhere as "puffy" tacos) is a crisp outside and soft inside. Chefs fill the creations with chicken or beef, then pile on the lettuce, tomatoes, and queso fresco.

Picos Tacos' chefs also introduce patrons to other Mexican eats they might be unfamiliar with: esquites, Mexican street corn served in a cup, and escabèche, a mixture of shrimp, crab, avocado, and mango tossed in lime juice and served with chips. And chefs slowly simmer a mole sauce blended with chocolate, chilies, nuts, cinnamon, and sesame seeds.
