Gator Boxing & Fitness Center, Vinton

The founder of Gator Boxing, Maynard, boasts more than 40 years boxing and teaching the craft to others. He promotes an appreciation for the sport of boxing, which is the stated mission of his gym. Though a lot of his classes are focused on fitness, he still teaches real boxing skills such as how to make a really intimidating scowl. Recently, his pupil Michael Garrison competed at the 2014 Virginia and North Carolina Golden Gloves tournament, taking home the title belt for the Open Class Welterweight Championship.
