Back in the 1980s when Nancy Myers began practicing pilates as a method of injury recovery, she had no idea it would lead her to cofound the bastion of "energy, health, and strength" that is EHS Pilates. Today, in partnership with Tracey Sylvester, the two oversee the company's operations, including the programming of the EHS Institute for Pilates and massage. The duo plucks the ripest instructors to lead onsite classes, and charge the teachers with the duty of helping others master Balanced Body equipment. Teachers are trained to help students of all levels reach their full potential, with EHS Pilates Reformer, Chair, Springboard, and Mat classes recommended to help beginners tackle the basics such as posture, alignment, breathing, cueing, and equipment setup.
EHS Pilates also offers Qigong classes, which use breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditation to help students cleanse systems and strengthen muscles. Promoting a clean state of mind, this Chinese technique aims to create better physical health. The studio also offers barre technique classes, with Balanced Body Barre classes combining Pilates and cardio moves. EHS's education program is nationally recognized, yet the studio remains devoted to healing the local community. The Wellness Center promotes health with acupuncture and chiropractic care.
