A perennial favorite when Dia de Los Muertos comes around, the Mission’s SanJalisco remains a family Mexican restaurant every other day of the year as well. The hopping eatery tends to fill up with Latino kids and parents sharing a meal, particularly after Sunday Mass. It’s heavy on tradition, including a special menu during Lent that’s different from the already-enormous standard menu, but local food hounds have honed in just the same. Now, eaters enamor themselves of SanJalisco’s outsized pozole, and the chilaquiles Veronica are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser as well.
