Treasure Island Yacht Club, San Francisco

Treasure Island Yacht Club is a mostly members-only yachting association located literally in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. With sweeping views of the city and a small amount of public access, the yacht club is a perfect place to drop anchor for a little while. With sheltering Clipper Cove providing a respite from the sometimes bracing bay winds, day boaters can disembark on seasonal Saturdays for a drink at the Lighthouse Bar before setting sail once again. For complete access, an existing member must sponsor you for admission, which comes with annual dues as rich as the club’s storied history. The yacht club has been organizing regattas since before Treasure Island was turned over to the public by the military, and enjoys a stellar reputation today as one of the finest sailing clubs in the bay area.
