From Our Editors
Painter, designer, and digital artist Yi Yan has roots that spread in creative soil. Born in a creative family, she developed her aesthetic in Chicago, honing a style that recalls the softness of Degas and the bold vibrancy of van Gogh at his most serene. Armed with an easygoing nature and her long-nurtured skill, Yan offers small-group and private art classes for ages four and older, helping students master mediums including pencil, watercolors, oil paints, and digital arts. Those looking for a casual night out might prefer to sign up for the BYOB painting classes, which combine painting fundamentals with a get-together over wine for an activity that’s as relaxing and refined as taking a bubble bath in a three-piece suit.
