Our Services

Having a midwife provide care during your pregnancy, birth, and post-partum period is parallel to the medical care provided by a hospital-based obstetrician.
Midwifery care offers the same comprehensive care as obstetrician care, but in a more relaxing setting. We provide the same services as an OB-GYN: labwork, sonograms, fetal growth monitoring, but our care is given in a way that is much more personal. Our goal is not to manage your pregnancy and birth FOR YOU, but rather to guide it WITH YOU in such a way that it will be a joyous and wonderful experience. A main focus of midwifery care is educating each woman, so that she can take control of her own pregnancy and birth experiences. Your body was made inherently perfect for nurturing life and giving birth, and provided with the necessary information and understanding of the birth process, along with the help of experienced midwives to assist, you should be able to experience the natural birth of your dreams.
We hope that you will allow us the honor of being present for your little one's peaceful entry into this world.

Heart 2 Heart Birth Center
established by Michelle Graf, and has evolved to effectively meet the needs of its clients and the surrounding community's desire for natural childbirth options. Opening a birth center was Michelle's lifelong dream, after giving birth to her first son in a similar Victorian-style birth center. Heart 2 Heart Birth Center is a "home away from home" birth center that offers complete birthing services in a home-like setting that cannot be found elsewhere. Come in and enjoy a cookie and a cup of tea with us, while we complete your prenatal visit. Let Heart 2 Heart Birth Center be your home away from home during this special time in your life.

Breastfeeding

Nursing your baby is one of the single-most things you can do to ensure good health for your newborn and has great health benefits for your postpartum recovery also
One of my fondest memories of nursing my son was looking down at my baby and him smiling at me while nursing with milk dribbling out.
He was utterly content, and I felt totally fulfilled at my ability to sustain him with my milk.
Learning to breastfeed is not always as easy as it seems.

Your Pregnancy

Prenatal care
with midwives is parallel to OBGYN care. The same lab tests, sonograms and appointment schedules are kept. The biggest difference is the amount of time your midwives spend with you at a visit and the amount of birth preparation you will receive with a midwife in comparison to standard OB care. A typical prenatal visit consists of obtaining your weight, blood pressure, measuring your baby's growth and listening to your baby's heart beat.
Postpartum Instructions are covered in detail in your childbirth classes at Heart 2 Heart and are also in your notebook but sometimes it is easier to look things up on line.
The tabs on the right go over the biggest questions couples usually have. Remember, the first few weeks are exciting but tiresome. Please conserve your energy and enjoy yourself with your new baby...you are on a "baby moon", sort of like a honey moon!
So now you have your baby...and you have questions!
Well for the most part there are plenty of baby books out there and your family and your pediatrician will give plenty of advice, but the tabs here on our site will answer some of your immediate baby care questions. We do offer a baby care class that covers natural baby care options such as cloth diapering, breastfeeding, baby wearing and common discomforts and some safe natural remedies.
