Co-founders John Rhoades and James Barnard have over 40 years of combined law enforcement experience and over 25 years of combined experience teaching people how to safely and effectively operate a motor vehicle.

Most of our behind the wheel instructors are current or former law enforcement, but all of them have a history of service to the community. Five O instructors value service, leadership, and education. It's what sets Five O Driving School apart from the competition.

In addition to decades of experience serving the community, all Five O instructors are licensed to teach driver education by the state of California and receive constant traffic enforcement and driver safety training to keep them up-to-date.

For new drivers under the age of 18, our online driver education course is the first step towards getting your California driver license. Once you finish with the online course and pass the permit test, we invite you to explore our behind the wheel driving instruction services.

We operate a fleet of newer Dodge Chargers equipped with dual-control brakes. We offer free pick up and drop off in our service areas of Bakersfield, the Central Coast, and Santa Clarita.
