About Tidewater Winery and Events Center

At Tidewater Winery, you can experience fabulous wines in a historic setting. Our winery and event venue are located in beautiful Drumright, Oklahoma. Our building, originally built by John D. Rockefeller to serve as a school for employees of the Tidewater Oil Company (Tydol) in the 1920’s, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Whether you’re planning a tour of Oklahoma wineries or your wedding or next event, Tidewater Winery offers you a romantic, beautiful venue in a quaint, historic setting. Tidewater Winery is located in the historic Tidal School in Drumright, Oklahoma. The school was built to serve the needs of the growing Drumright community during the big oil boom. Built by John D. Rockefeller for the Tidewater Oil Company in the 1920’s, it is one of just a few reminders of that bygone, booming era in the area and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tidewater Oil Company (Tydol) was a major player in refining and marketing petroleum products in the United States for more than 80 years. Tidewater built a large refinery in Drumright and the school came soon after to serve the children of Tidewater’s burgeoning workforce. Few Wine Highlights: Cabernet Sauvignon’s aromas of black currant and aged cedar with flavors of dark cherry make it an inviting and full-body wine that pairs very well with grilled steak and veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. Drumright, OK is a town full of murals, each telling a part of Drumright’s history. The mural on the front label, created by Darren Maine of Perry, OK, depicts downtown Drumright circa the 1920s. Both corner buildings, situated at the intersection of Penn and Broadway, are still in use today. Come tour the murals of Drumright! Sweet Jimmie Jane. A great blush wine, blend especially sweet, just like its namesake. The mural on this label, created by Dr. Bob Palmer, depicts oilfield homes referred to as shotgun houses, known for being able to see through the small house from front to back. The rumor is that the lady in yellow is patterned after a certain local historian who lobbies tirelessly and successfully for many of our murals. American Merlot is a medium- to full-body, dry red wine with aromas of cherry and subtle notes of strawberry. Couple this wine with a grilled flank or skirt steak with chimichurri sauce. The Mural on the front label was created post 911 in response to Drumright Citizens who wanted to flag big enough for pilots flying by to see. Dr. Bob Palmer and several of his art students from the former central state in Edmond created the mural. Award winning, “O” Moscato! has aromas of mango and pineapple on the noise along with flavors of pineapple and subtle notes of papaya. “O” Moscato! can be enjoyed with brightly flavored fish dishes or as a dessert wine. Pair it with a chilled lemon tart and fresh berries. The mural on the front label depicts a legendary “gathering place,” known as Hump Hill, from the early boomtown days. The Hump was known to provide oil field workers with all things illegal. The Hump House proprietor’s name in this mural happens to be a previous owner of Tidewater Winery! Don’t miss a tour of the murals of Drumright!
