What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We offer award-winning organic sugar hair removal by our certified Sugaristas with a brand-new third location in Sherman Oaks.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
When I was first introduced to sugar hair removal at a tradeshow in 2007, I knew that sugaring should be the leading form of hair removal. It became my mission to help people feel comfortable in what can be an uncomfortable situation, while educating them on how to reduce or diminish ingrowns, refine hair and improve the condition of the skin. I started out renting a room in a small salon in the Santa Clarita Valley and word began to spread that sugaring was the best way to remove unwanted hair. We are proud of our reputation and our 5-star Yelp reviews at both our Newhall and Westlake Village locations and are excited to bring the same level of professionalism and expertise to our new location now open in Sherman Oaks!
What do you love most about your job?
I love to introduce people to the wonderful world of sugar hair removal! I love that our clients love coming back to us because we take care of them and make them feel comfortable. They love us because sugar is less painful than waxing and the fact that our sugar is just lemon, water and sugar; it’s totally eco-friendly and biodegradable! There’s never any parabens or fragrance - just sweet sugar removing the hair.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
A client came to me in tears because she was so embarrassed about her legs. She had tons of ingrowns and a lot of dense, coarse hair. I told her to give me three sessions and to follow our protocol of proper exfoliation and hydration. Each session got shorter in time because of the reduction of hair. After the third session, she cried again. I asked her why she was crying and she said, “Because before sugaring, I could never go out in shorts or a skirt without feeling insecure, and now I can show them off because they look so good!” That was 6 years ago and I still see that same sweet client every five weeks.
