How Caesura Escape came to be:

Mental exhaustion. As a single mother who works full time, it is extremely easy to forget to take care of yourself. Without even realizing it, I was doing everything in a rush: quick shower, quick bite to eat, just to rush out the door to run errands and take care of everyone and everything except myself. Yes, the manicure and pedicure are done on a regular basis and I put a brush through my hair on most days, but what about actually taking the time to check-in with myself? This type of neglect led to severe depression and anxiety. After speaking to a therapist, I was told that I needed a break. I needed to get away and dedicate time to myself without hearing approaching footsteps followed by “Mom?!”. How was I going to do that? How do you even schedule a break? 

Hotels were not an option: can't check in until 3:00pm, they are expensive, and I can't always spend a night away from home.

Massages are great but they can also be expensive, one hour is not enough time for anyone to truly relax, and they are typically accompanied by a rushed feeling once the service is complete.  

I combined the two concepts, set a realistic, non mom-shaming amount of time, and included beverages: Two hours (or more), incredible 4D massage chairs-you've got to experience them for yourself! and a private suite where I can shut the door on the demands of life and enjoy a cookie by myself...just for a moment.
