Bruce Johnson Studios

After 20 years as a professional photojournalist, during which he garnered two Pulitzer Prize nominations—one for covering the MOVE disaster and another for a story on pediatric AIDS—Bruce Johnson settled into the woods of Raleigh with his two sons and opened a photography studio. He has now added a decade of family and individual portraiture to his wealth of experience, which has also included photographing everything from fashion to political figures. Johnson’s mastery of the art is apparent as he captures natural expressions and unique interpersonal dynamics, preserving children’s laughter and high-school graduates’ confident grins for future generations to study from the comfort of their moon bungalows.
