Blonde, brunette and redhead - those aren’t just top selling flavors, they’re also the three young women who founded Hey Sugar Cupcakes back in 2007. All three wanted a little something different in their lives and wanted to earn an income in a way that they would enjoy. It was over dessert that the idea came to them, “let’s make cupcakes!” And the rest was easy.
Well, not really! They didn’t want to make just another cupcake. There would be no mass production, no preservatives, no box-mix cake, no tub of icing. They knew that if they were to succeed in business they had to completely re-invent the dessert business. They spent months testing different recipes to get things right, and when they finally did, they started marketing themselves by supporting every school and charity event in town.
Fast forward a few years and although the blonde, brunette and redhead remain great friends, Hey Sugar Cupcakes is now the brunette’s family business. The Hey Sugar team makes over 60 flavors of cupcakes, cake, cheesecake, jars of cake, cake pops, gift boxes and more. And prides themselves on baking fresh to order, delivering to any address in South Florida.
