What You'll Get
Hanging out amid a flurry of tiny, colorful spheres used to be a pastime reserved for marble-wielding scamps named Alfalfa, Stymie, and Spank-Wheat. Defect from that rascally gang and get a real shooter in hand with today's Groupon: for $25, you get a paintball package, including equipment rental, 500 paintballs, and lunch, at Action Games Paintball in Tewksbury (a $50 value).
For more than 20 years, Action Games Paintball has been providing a place for families and friends to come together and share their mutual love of pelting each other with dye-filled capsules at medium range. Run, leap, and frolic across the park's six playing fields, diving behind bunkers and bridges and lining up shots from atop towers and forts. With more than 80 acres, the acrylic arena allows for a variety of heart-pumping games, including Capture the Flag, Attack and Defend, and high-stakes rounds of hopscotch.
In addition to equipment and included rounds, paint-pumping patrons also get unlimited CO2, and can hurl multichromatic spheres of ferocity at darting opponents for a full day (9 a.m.–2 p.m.), or up to 10 paintball games (extra paintball rounds are $20 each for 500). Replenish freshly fresco-ed bellies with an all-you-can-eat barbecue lunch under the forest canopy before heading back out to the field to paint your rendition of Monet's Man Playing Paintball on your friend's waiting back.
